The Services, Tools & Products I Use as a Social Media Manager

I have been a social media manager for almost 7 years now, and have owned my own social media marketing business for just about a year. In that time I have learned a lot and have come to find what works best for me and what doesn’t.

It took a lot of trial and error and that’s why I decided to compile a list of all of the services, tools, and products I use as a social media manager and business owner for you to use as a reference.

If you are ready to step up your social media game and refresh the tools, services, or products you are using, keep reading. I also plan to update this list as I find more or better options, so no matter when you are reading this, it is relevant to you!

My Favourite Products as a Social Media Manager

For filming reels or taking photos. This is the exact ring light I use, however, the price is higher than when I bought it: UbeeSize Ring Light & Tripod. If you want a cheaper alternative that I think would be just as good, you can check out this UPhinitis Selfie Ringlight and Tripod.

Staring at screens for so long started to hurt my eyes & these Blue Light Glasses have helped me so much. I’m actually wearing them as I type this 🤓.

To keep at my desk at all times for charging my phone, I have a charger similar to the Anker Wireless Charger.

I plan everything down to the day and have multiple ways I keep track of everything. Since social media is different day-to-day, and planning ahead helps me manage it all I use a Daily Planner to stay organized.

I also have this Magnetic Dry Erase Calendar on my wall where I put all of my important days and deadlines.

I may have even caved and bought this limited edition pack of Post-It Notes that I thought were so cute! By “may have,” I mean I definitely did.

I am also loving my new Phone Stand that sits nicely on my desk next to my laptop.

I also recently got a new phone & have to say the video and photo quality has been amazing. While totally not necessary, I thought I would share what I’m currently using: iPhone 13.

Social Media Manager Tools & Services

I currently am loving Planoly as a way to schedule myself and my client’s posts. I currently am on a paid plan that allows me to add as many accounts as I want for a small monthly fee per account.

I design all of my and my client’s posts using Canva where I pay for a Pro subscription. If you manage social media pages, I consider this an absolute must! I will also always recommend using Canva on your computer versus your phone, as you are better able to edit your images and navigate all of the features. If you have graphic design experience, however, use whatever you like best!

When I don’t use Instagram to edit my reels, I use the InShot app. When I have more complicated edits to make, I will invest in the paid options for a month or two at a time as you can access some higher-level features.

I purchased my website domain on GoDaddy and currently host and manage my website on Squarespace. Both of these services have been very useful & I find them both super user-friendly and great for people new to the digital marketing world.

I also rely heavily on Google Drive for keeping all of my digital notes and client schedules in one place. This is also where I organize all of my ongoing client work.

When I need my clients to send me content such as brand photos or reels footage, I use Dropbox. I love it because I can easily access it on my laptop or my phone.
